COOLFAN

The predominant concept used by Coolfan to cool is evaporation through high pressure fogging.  According to rules governed by the psychrometric chart, the air temperature can be reduced while humidity increases simply by evaporating water into the environment.  When taking into consideration capital expenditure, on-going energy costs, uniformity, and water use; high pressure fogging comes out as the most popular cooling technique in many Australian industries.

Coolfan optimizes the evaporation (and thereby cooling effect), with a specifically designed high pressure system that pushes billions of tiny water particles through 0.2mm nozzles.  Because the nozzle orifice is so small, and the pressure is so high, billions of droplets smaller than the thickness of a human hair are formed.  Small droplets have two main benefits, foremost they are susceptible to flash evaporation and therefore immediate cooling of the surrounding air, and they do not cause wetness in a well ventilated environment.  On a scientific level, this process is explained with a psychrometric chart.  This chart shows the trade-off between temperature reduction and humidity increase.  In technical terms the sensible energy is reduced while the latent energy of the air is increased.  The end result is that it can turn a hot dry climate into a cool and comfortable one with the flip of a switch.
